About Mystery Shopping
Mystery Shopping is a form of research that allows clients to determine if the decisions made in the boardroom are carried out on the sales floors or in the dining rooms of their establishments across the globe. Mystery Shopping is essentially an operational audit that utilizes scenarios wherein shopper-researchers pose as customers. These shoppers interact with clients just as though they were actual customers. Each shopper has advanced knowledge of certain elements of the interaction that should be observed and recorded. Feedback shoppers never disclose their identities as shoppers to avoid affecting the actions of our clients’ associates.
While it is typically fun and informative, mystery shopping is first and foremost a business. This research must be conducted in a professional, business-like manner. It is important that mystery shoppers be attentive so they can accurately record names, events and times in their memories so they can record them permanently after they are away from the client’s location. Never should a shopper be seen recording information that would expose their role as a mystery shopper.
Better-managed businesses, whether large or small, perform regular mystery shopping programs. These programs assist management in determining if their actions provide the best in customer satisfaction and attention to consumer needs. Shoppers play a vital role in this process if they have the necessary skills and desire to make a difference.
Feedback mystery shoppers are not employees of Feedback Plus, Inc. Rather, they are independent contractors who may perform one or hundreds of mystery shops for Feedback over time. Our clients have specific requirements to which they insist each shopper adhere. Following very specific instructions is a necessity.
Because most clients are concerned about the demographic profile of their customers, they sometimes require that our shoppers represent this profile. In order to fulfill those requests, we require that each shopper willingly reveal certain information that will create their own unique demographic profile. Feedback assures each shopper that the information they provide is confidential. Our database belongs to Feedback Plus, Inc. and we do not sell, share, or in any other way disclose information about our shoppers without their permission. Feedback enjoys an impeccable reputation earned over 30 years in this industry.
